Each of us holds a view of the world that has been shaped by unique experiences, interactions, and cultural influences. With a strengths-based, person-centered approach to counseling, Julie is guided by a deep respect and understanding of this principle. Julie uses her training in evidence-based (including body-based) therapy approaches, mindfulness, and helpful bits of neuroscience to help clients grow a deeper understanding and acceptance about what they’ve experienced and how it may influence the way they feel, think, and respond in stressful situations.
“As human beings, when we feel seen, heard, and supported in what’s happened to us—shown that we can be genuinely received for who we are and as we are right now with kindness and non-judgment—we feel safe and better able to recognize our very own wellness.”
Julie gently guides clients in making this shift in focus toward recognizing their own wellness—the strengths, abilities, and resilience necessary to have gotten them through adversity—and how it can now help them to grow forward. Offering empathy, support, and tools for building upon this recognized base of wellness, Julie helps clients to create new pathways for managing mental and emotional challenges with more mental clarity, balance, self-acceptance, and greater ease.
