Wellness Lens Counseling

“Like ever constant ocean waves, life’s stressors hold both power and beauty. And the lens through which we view them

can shift our relationship with life.” ~ J Koloc

Make a Shift

What would it be like to be able to shift into your own wellness, strengths, and resilience and build upon those in a way that allows you to engage in your life with a greater sense of ease and confidence—whatever waves or stressors come in life?

While it’s true that ultimately we are the ones to make our own choices and decisions about how to heal and grow, the idea that we can do this or need to do this without support simply isn’t true.  We human beings are wired in our neurobiology to connect with others.  We need each other. (It’s why feeling isolated doesn’t feel good!)

Wellness Lens Counseling seeks to help clients gain more clarity about their challenges by understanding some basic information about neuroscience and why we sometimes develop non-helpful responses or thinking when we feel challenged or triggered by certain experiences.  WLC offers a safe and non-judgmental place to land to explore your emotional and mental concerns and questions as well as evidence- and body-based techniques and approaches that support healing at a nervous system level.

“I’m honored to be a counselor and am here to offer a presence of non-judgment, kindness, and acceptance. If you are curious about counseling in general or if counseling with me might be a beneficial next step for you, I invite you to contact me for a 15-minute phone consultation. I’m happy to chat with you to answer your questions and help you with your next steps toward emotional and mental wellness.”

Counseling with WLC may be a helpful next step if you…

…often feel overwhelmed by worry, unhelpful thoughts, or panic.

…hesitate to join in, isolate yourself, or have trouble connecting authentically for fear of rejection.

…have experienced trauma, neglect, or harmful relationships.

…aren’t sure if you’ve experienced trauma or neglect and don’t feel you can explore it alone.

…often feel angry inside but don’t feel you can safely let it out or hold it in.

…often feel unseen, unheard, or dismissed and have a lot of difficulty expressing your thoughts and feelings.

…have already “processed” the past trauma by talking through it and now have what most others would consider a         good life; yet you struggle internally with self-doubt, or see yourself as less-than, undeserving, or feel you can’t           fully engage in the life you’ve built.

…seem to have lots of difficulty in the important relationships in your life.

…really struggle with feeling worthy or have the constant thought, “What is wrong with me?”

…genuinely love others but don’t feel you get what you need from them.  You feel drained or stuck in “people-                 pleasing” mode.

…need some support as you manage a difficult loss, situation, or transition in life.

Let’s chat to see if WLC is a good fit!
